About Soho Grand Hotel, New-york Location : The hotel is uniquely and advantageously located in the fashionable downtown neighborhood of SoHo. The area of the hotel is bound by Houston Street in the north to Canal Street in the south and by Broadway in the east of the Hudson River in the west. The name of the area literally comes from being located "South of Houston". Chrome fixtures and milk-glass lights complete the old New York charm.
Restaurant : The recently redesigned restaurant and salon like lounge has seventeen foot high ceilings with chocolate drapes connnecting them. In the Lounge, plush furniture, low cocktail tables, chocolate drapes and floor to ceiling windows create a luxurious haven overlooking West Broadway. Amber-hued lighting, antique fixtures and weathered mirrors adorn the bar, an intimate, wood-paneled club-room.
Exterior : The hotel stands 17 storey high with unrivaled views.
Lobby : The design evokes the evolution of SoHo's architectual heritage over the past 25 years and reflects the stylistic trends visible in SoHo today. All of the materials used in the construction are consitent with the existing character of the community including cast iron, stone and brick. The sweeping grand staircase, with it's glass bottle-cap inspired design, leads guest up to the lobby area where the front desk sits under 17 foot ceilings and lamps that evokes the spirit of gas lit elegance.
